Two senior government officials, the foreign minister and the presidential spokesperson, have defined Russia's invasion as a "war" and said Ankara will act accordingly. Meanwhile, protests against the invasion continue across Turkey, both by citizens of Ukraine and locals.

What steps should be taken against Russia's incursion into Ukraine will be discussed in today's virtual NATO summit, the president has said.

President Erdoğan has once again called on Russia to end its incursion into Ukraine after a security summit.

Peoples’ Democratic Party Spokesperson Ebru Günay has said, “The developments unfolding in Ukraine is the hegemonic war between NATO and Russia” and called for negotiations and dialogue.

Earlier, Kyiv asked Ankara to close the straits to Russia's naval ships, which would violate the convention.

Turkey, Osman Kavala and members of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe may submit opinions by April 19. The ECtHR will review the case in May or June and the Grand Chamber is expected to give the final judgment after August.

Turkey can't give up on its relations with Russia or Ukraine, the president has said, calling on the two countries to return to the negotiating table.
