Deniz Yücel, the former Turkey correspondent of Die Welt who spent a year behind bars in Turkey, has been given a judicial fine for “insulting” Hasan Yılmaz, the former İstanbul Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor and the current Vice Justice Minister.

Put on trial again for “propagandizing for a terrorist organization” with the news and pictures that she posted on social media, journalist Selda Manduz has been sentenced to 1 year, 6 months in prison by the Kars 2nd High Criminal Court.
